Russia is mulling the creation of a demilitarized zone across the Ukrainian nuclear energy plant in Zaporizhzhia – the biggest in Europe – which has been underneath Russian occupation since March and has been hit by shelling in current days, elevating considerations of a nuclear catastrophe.

“It’s a wise initiative, I consider that we’re going to help it,” Russian senator Vladimir Dzhabarov stated, in keeping with the RIA Novosti information company.

However regardless of calls from the US and the United Nations for Moscow at hand the reins of the plant over to Ukraine, Dzhabarov insisted that “Russia should preserve management of the station.”
