The principle opposition group at Pollensa city corridor, Junts Avançam, has denounced the dumping of “hundreds of tonnes of rubble and demolition particles” in a protected space of the Formentor peninsula.
On Wednesday, Junts confirmed that they reported this alleged infraction to the Council of Mallorca’s ADT company for the defence of territory and to the regional surroundings ministry in July and requested a halt to work on the Lodge Formentor.
Tomeu Cifre, mayor till a few weeks in the past and now councillor for city planning, says that the city corridor drew up a report about this some weeks in the past however has no plans to cease the renovation and extension work on the resort. Cifre denies that rubble has been dumped, saying that that is combination from the excavation of the resort’s new semi-basement that the homeowners need to reuse for roads within the space.
