Lakhimpur Kheri: Six males have been arrested on Thursday in reference to the alleged rape and homicide of two Dalit teenage sisters right here, police mentioned.
The women, aged 15 and 17, have been discovered hanging from a tree in a sugarcane subject a couple of kilometre from their home within the Nighasan police station space on Wednesday.
“Now we have arrested Junaid, Sohail, Hafizur Rehman, Karimuddin, Arif and Chottu in an in a single day operation,” Lakhimpur Kheri Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjiv Suman advised reporters.
Junaid and Sohail have been allegedly in a relationship with the 2 sisters, he mentioned.
“In line with preliminary investigation, the 2 sisters left their residence on Wednesday afternoon after they have been persuaded by Junaid and Sohail. Junaid and Sohail have confessed that they strangulated the women after raping them,” the SP mentioned.
The duo then known as Karimuddin and Arif to eliminate their our bodies. They later hanged the our bodies from a tree to make it appear to be suicide, Suman mentioned.
An FIR has been registered below sections 302 (homicide), 323 (voluntarily inflicting damage), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for damage, assault or fallaciousful restraint), 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Safety of Youngsters from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he mentioned.
A autopsy examination is underway on the district hospital. All the pieces is being executed with the consent of the women’ relations, he mentioned.
The women’ mom had on Wednesday claimed that they have been murdered.
