  • Black Eyed Peas – 1 cup dried

  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
  • Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing – ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves a sprig
  • Onion – 1 medium measurement sliced thinly
  • Tomatoes – 1 massive chopped finely
  • Garlic – 3 cloves crushed
  • Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi – ½ tsp
  • Cumin Powder / Jeera Podi – 1 tsp
  • Salt to style
  • Sugar – ½ tsp or to style
  • Tamarind Pulp – 2 tbsp or to style
  • Coriander leaves – a small handful finely chopped

  1. Take black eyed peas in a bowl. Wash it nicely. Now cowl it with water and soak it in a single day.
