Bollards & Seashore Roundabout | Costa Tropical Gazette Information

We thought that it was about time that we went to see the Councillor for Public Works on the Salobreña City Corridor concerning the seashore street.

After having spoken with the Press Officer, Isabel Ramos, to see if she knew something about whether or not the bollards would get replaced or whether or not the roundabout in entrance of the Peñón could be restored to full use, she referred me to the mentioned councillor, who was in a gathering within the Mayor’s workplace subsequent door.

When Councillor Mari Jose García got here out of the Mayor’s workplace, I posed the next questions:

1) Does the City Corridor intend to set the bollards again up alongside the seashore street?

2) If the City Corridor doesn’t intend to do that, will it open up the roundabout in entrance of Restaurante El Peñón in order that visitors can use it to return immediately alongside the seashore street; i.e. reintroduce 2-way visitors so far as the Avenida Mediterráneo junction, at the very least.

She mentioned that they may decide on the bollards as soon as the Romería in October has handed – the floats gained’t have the ability to use the seashore street if the bollards are put again.

As for the roundabout, that, she identified, is a bit more sophisticated as a result of the roundabout has sturdy metallic bars sunk into the street floor – the bollards are straightforward to put and take away. Nonetheless, the choice on that, too, will probably be taken as soon as the Romería fiestas have come and gone.

Keep tuned.
