Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Below the chairmanship of district collectors, State Authorities reconstituted Wetland Conservation Committees on Monday. Chief Government Officer (CEO) District Panchayat might be Committee Member for rural sectors whereas Municipal Commissioner and Chief Municipal Officer might be Committee Members in City Areas respectively.
The tasks of District Wetland Conservation Committees consists of built-in conservation of ponds at district stage, acceptable motion when it comes to administration, working with state wetland authority, efficient implementation of wetland guidelines, implementation of schemes run by state and centre, serving to State Wetland Authority in valuation and vigilance.
Committees will gather data of all ponds and can put together a database and might be liable for their upkeep. Committee can even coordinate between departments related with ponds and beneficiaries.
