In Queensland politics, it’s often known as auto-babble, a nod to the state’s nice phrase mangler, Joh Bjelke-Petersen. Whether or not you’re on offence or defence, simply throw the entire bowl of phrase salad throughout the desk and hope you’ll confuse everybody with the quantity of verbiage.

Liberal Chief Peter Dutton, who has absorbed and practises the much less refined arts of Queensland conservatism, rolled loads of auto-babble out this week whereas occurring the assault within the debate over a constitutional modification for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.  

This method includes non-sequiturs like this, in an interview on ABC’s 7.30: “I wish to make it possible for these voices who’ve the flexibility to make the adjustments, and the sensible outcomes and the enhancements for youths and girls and households on the bottom, that’s the voice that I wish to hear.”
