Elton John pays heartfelt tribute to Queen Elizabeth II throughout Toronto live performance


‘I am glad she’s at peace’: Elton John pays heartfelt tribute to Queen Elizabeth II throughout Toronto live performance after her loss of life aged 96

Sir Elton John continued his tributes to the Queen at his live performance in Toronto on Thursday evening, throughout which he praised the monarch and her ‘inspiring presence’.

The musician, 75, advised his viewers the Queen had led Britain by ‘a few of our biggest and darkest moments’ saying she ‘deserved’ her last relaxation.

Reflecting on the 96-year-old’s loss of life on Thursday in Scotland, Sir Elton then gave a rendition of his 1974 observe Do not Let the Solar Go Down on Me, whereas pictures of the smiling monarch, sporting a vibrant purple coat and hat, have been displayed on the screens.

He stated: ‘She was an inspiring presence to be round… she was improbable.

‘She led the nation by a few of our biggest and darkest moments with grace and decency and a real caring heat.

‘I am 75 and she or he’s been with me all my life and I really feel very unhappy that she will not be with me anymore, however I am glad she’s at peace, and I am glad she’s at relaxation and she or he deserves it.

‘She labored bloody laborious. I ship my like to her household. She’ll be missed… however we’ll have a good time her life tonight with you, OK?’

The singer-songwriter additionally took to social media to share his ideas on the information: ‘Together with the remainder of the nation, I’m deeply saddened to listen to the information of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s pssing.

Sir Elton was knighted by the Queen in 1998.

The King invested the musician and charity patron as a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour at a ceremony at Windsor Citadel final 12 months.

Sir Elton sang on the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997.

Elton’s live performance in Canada was the second of two nights at Toronto’s Rogers Centre and a part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Highway tour, billed as his last tour.
