The nationwide directorate for civil safety and emergencies has issued its personal warning relating to torrential rain and thunderstorms forecast for the Balearics, the east and northeast of the mainland and the Canaries.
Rainfall of as much as 40 litres per sq. metre in an hour is being forecast by Aemet together with the chance of thunderstorms, hail and robust gusts of wind.
Amber alerts for rain and storms in Mallorca’s Tramuntana, north and northeast and in Minorca are presently efficient from 6pm Saturday till midnight Sunday. Amber is for rain of 40 litres or extra. For the remainder of Mallorca and for Ibiza and Formentera, the amber alerts are efficient from midnight Saturday.
Alerts (amber or yellow) will proceed till not less than 8am on Monday.
