French Orthodox Church opens inquiry into historic abuse


The pinnacle of France’s Orthodox Church on Friday introduced an inside investigation into alleged youngster abuse at a monastery within the southern Herault area greater than 30 years in the past.

The announcement got here after Liberation newspaper reported the account of three brothers who stated that they had been repeatedly raped there as youngsters.

“That’s the reason we’re dedicated to conducting an open and clear investigation into this monastery, its previous and its current.”
