A Hungarian delegation led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban attended a public funeral ceremony held for Mikhail Gorbachev on September 3 in Moscow. 1000’s of individuals lined up exterior the town’s Home of the Unions to put flowers on the open coffin of the final Soviet chief. Though a guard of honor watched over the casket, the occasion didn’t have the standing of a state funeral. Gorbachev’s loss of life was introduced on August 30. Russian President Vladimir Putin selected to pay his closing respects privately on September 1 with the Kremlin saying his “work schedule” didn’t enable him to attend the funeral.
