Italy’s nationwide state-owned railway holding firm Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) has unveiled plans to take a position €2 billion in upgrading the fibre-optic cable community to offer quick web protection throughout all trains.
The plan, introduced at Italy’s annual Rimini Assembly this week by FS director Luigi Ferraris, goals to offer commuters with dependable web connection alongside the complete railway community that covers 17,000 kilometres and a pair of,200 stations.
Information of the foremost funding comes as the corporate undertakes efforts to attach its high-speed rail community to 4G web protection, a venture anticipated to be full inside 18 months.
The plan for “whole connectivity on regional trains” is a part of a long-term venture by FS specializing in “innovation and digitalisation”, stated Ferraris, including: “Connectivity is a key factor”.
