Man dies after crop dusting aircraft crashes in central Alberta

The pilot of a crop dusting aircraft has died in a crash close to Donalda in central Alberta, based on the RCMP.

Bashaw RCMP, EMS and hearth crews responded to the crash at 9:50 a.m. on Monday close to Freeway 53 and Vary Highway 190. Upon arrival, RCMP stated the one occupant of the aircraft, a 39-year-old man from Bawlf, Alta., was discovered deceased.

The Transportation Security Board of Canada (TSB) despatched a group of investigators on Monday to look into the crash of the aerial software plane, which is an agricultural plane used for crop dusting or aerial seeding.

The TSB is an unbiased company that investigates air, marine, pipeline and rail transportation incidents.

Donalda is situated about 110 kilometres northeast of Pink Deer.
