Papua New Guinea’s nationwide elections have delivered a win for James Marape, who will lead a coalition of a minimum of 17 events in authorities.
James Marape has been returned as Papua New Guinea’s prime minister after a nationwide election marred by violence and fraud allegations.
Mr Marape was declared prime minister on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a unanimous 97 votes within the post-election parliamentary sitting.
He’ll lead a coalition of a minimum of 17 events.
His rival, former prime minister Peter O’Neill, sought to delay the sitting as some vote counting has not been finalised within the election which ran from July 4 to 22.
