Minister of state for electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar in a written reply to the Lok Sabha mentioned the apps are developed by varied international locations, together with China.
“Primarily based on the request from MHA, the Ministry of Electronics and Data Expertise (MeitY) has blocked these 348 cell functions since such information transmissions infringes the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India and safety of the State,” he mentioned.
