No plan to droop Agnipath recruitment rallies in Punjab: Military

NEW DELHI: The Indian Military has no plan to droop or shift recruitment rallies out of Punjab beneath the Agnipath scheme, mentioned senior officers on Wednesday. In an announcement, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann mentioned Wednesday that he has requested the civil administration to offer all help to the Military to conduct recruitment rallies within the state.

The clarification is available in wake of media stories that the native Military unit had written to the state administration threatening to switch recruitment rallies out of the state attributable to non-cooperation by civil administration.

“All deputy commissioners have been directed to offer full help to the Military authorities for recruitment of Agniveers in Punjab. Any laxity shall be seen critically,” the Punjab CM mentioned. Mr Mann mentioned each effort can be made to recruit the utmost variety of candidates into the Military from the state.

Indian Military officers mentioned the recruitment of Agniveers as per the Agnipath scheme was progressing as per schedule for recruiting 12 months 2022-23. “It’s clarified that, particularly within the state of Punjab, recruitment rallies in Ludhiana and Gurdaspur have been efficiently performed with the complete help of the civil administration. They mentioned that additional rallies in Patiala (17-30 September), Ferozepur (1-16 November) and Jalandhar (21 November to 10 December), together with ladies Agniveers, can even be held as scheduled in shut coordination with the administration.
