Sam Lo: Artist’s speak (20-30 min)
Sam Lo (aka SKL0) is a Singapore-based visible artist whose work revolves round social commentaries fuelled by day by day observations of their environment and analysis into the socio-political local weather. In his honours dissertation, now printed within the journal Southeast of Now, he targeted on queer Singaporean efficiency artist Bathroom ZIhan’s Cane (2012) which was a re-enactment of Josef Ng’s Brother Cane (1994). Moderated by curator Jennifer Yang, the panel addresses the slipperiness of the idea of a “modern Asian girls’s artwork” and the challenges which encompass constructing feminist curatorial and analysis methods round it. Dr Yvonne Low is an artwork historian and lecturer in Asian Artwork on the College of Sydney. Dr Luise Visitor is an unbiased artwork author and researcher with a deal with modern Chinese language artwork.
