A Pollensa city corridor technical report has concluded that the administration should open sanctions proceedings in respect of the entire demolition of the Resort Formentor.
This has been carried out “in breach of the rules” and “it’s not lined by the licence granted”. The report states that contravention of present rules represents “a critical city planning infraction” and subsequently additionally urges the “fast suspension of the works” to be able to grant the legally established interval for “applicable legalisation”.
The deputy mayor for city planning, Tomeu Cifre, says that the city corridor will open a file to sanction the homeowners however provides that this “will come to nothing”. The report, he explains, doesn’t say that ten months in the past the homeowners introduced the city corridor with the demolition mission, whereas the licence and mission for reconstruction, as obtained following a tourism ministry report, are continuing.
“What we aren’t going to do is trigger harm to the employees by stopping work after we know that the reconstruction mission is being processed and that we’re solely ready for some element to grant the licence (for modification of the demolition).”
