Man accused of burning down landmark e book stall in Rome.

Rome police have arrested a 51-year-old homeless man believed to be liable for intentionally beginning a spate of fires within the Italian capital this summer season, town’s mayor introduced.

The arrest is the results of weeks of investigative work by carabinieri who linked the person to a collection of fires at bars, eating places and garbage bins within the metropolis, experiences Il Fatto Quotidiano newspaper.

The stall’s proprietor Roberto Maccaroni, who reopened his enterprise inside days of the hearth after receiving hundreds of donated books from throughout Italy, advised La Repubblica that he “felt sorry” for the arsonist, stating: “I really feel extra ache than pleasure” over the person’s arrest.

Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri on Twitter thanked the carabinieri for the investigation that led to the arrest of the “serial pyromaniac”, underlining that the capital is “united within the struggle in opposition to crime, for the safety of the setting.”
