HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police on Thursday arrested BJP MLA Raja Singh, hours after serving him notices below Part 41A of the Prison Process Code (CrPC) for 2 pending instances.
The MLA was arrested below the provisions of the Preventive Detention Act. After a medical examination, he was produced earlier than the Nampally courtroom.
Raja Singh was arrested by the police on Tuesday, however he was let out by the Nampally courtroom on a private bail of Rs 20,000.
Later, Raja Singh’s lawyer Okay. Karuna Sagar stated that the police didn’t comply with due process in arresting Raja Singh and the police’ remand request was rejected by the courtroom.
Tuesday’s arrest of Raja Singh and his subsequent launch after excessive drama throughout the day, was preceded by his stiff opposition to comic Munawar Faruqui’s present within the metropolis on August 20.
This isn’t the primary time that Raja Singh butted heads with the comic. Late final 12 months, Faruqui’s present was cancelled following threats of disruption from Raja Singh. This time, the present was held amidst tight safety. Raja Singh had stated that he would submit a ‘comedy’ video in response, and it was this video that resulted in his arrest and suspension from the celebration.
