The parliament authorized a presidential movement on Oct. 18 to
lengthen the mandate of Turkish troops in Lebanon for yet another 12 months,

The mandate for deployment of Turkish Armed Forces as a part of
the U.N. Interim Pressure in Lebanon (UNIFIL) can be prolonged as of
Oct. 30, 2022.

The movement for UNIFIL mission has been prolonged yearly since
it was first authorized by the parliament in September 2006.

The UNIFIL was established in 1978 when Israel withdrew from
Lebanon. The U.N.’s peacekeeping drive goals to offer safety and
assist the Lebanese authorities in rebuilding its authority.

Almost 10,600 troops from 40 international locations are a part of the UNIFIL
mission.
