Architect Claude Cormier’s The Ring was lit up Wednesday for the primary time in celebration of Place Ville Marie’s sixtieth anniversary.

The 23-tonne construction, which is 30 metres in diameter, is suspended between two buildings on the high of the steps of the primary entrance to the Place Ville Marie esplanade.
The festivities Wednesday included the lighting of the ring and musical performances by Ariane Moffatt, Sarahmée and CRi.
