12 folks injured in Toronto Island ferry crash


A dozen individuals are injured after a Toronto Island ferry crashed right into a terminal dock Saturday night.

Toronto police stated on Twitter that officers responded to calls of a collision within the Queens Quay West and Bay Avenue space.

“Ferry has struck the dock,” police tweeted simply after 5 p.m., including that there have been stories of those who fell. “Quite a few individuals are injured.”

Toronto paramedics informed the Star they’d 12 folks with minor accidents, together with two kids, taken to hospital.

Police spokesperson Const. David Hopkinson stated the collision occurred at 5:08 p.m. on the Jack Layton Ferry Docks.

“What prompted the collision is beneath investigation at present,” he stated.
