Chemical tanker crashes into cargo ship off Japanese coast



A Japanese chemical tanker collided with a cargo ship off the coast of southwestern Japan on Saturday, the coast guard stated.

The crash occurred within the early hours of Saturday.

It was investigated after each ships have been anchored within the space, roughly 3.5km (2.2 miles) off the coast of Wakayama prefecture, an official of the Kushimoto Coast Guard stated.

No accidents have been reported among the many six Japanese crew members aboard the chemical tanker Ryoshinmaru, or the14 Chinese language crew members on the Belize-registered cargo ship Xin Hai 99.

The engine space of the cargo ship started to sink initially after oil started leaking from it, however was quickly introduced below management, the coast guard official stated.

The tanker Ryoshinmaru didn’t have any chemical substances on board on the time of the incident, because it had left Kobe port to select up chemical substances from one other Japanese port, thereby avoiding a higher mishap.
