‘Deliberate sexist insult’, alleges BJP; Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury says will apologise to President Murmu, to not ‘hypocrites’

The BJP on Thursday put Sonia Gandhi and her celebration chief within the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, within the pillory for “demeaning” President Droupadi Murmu, who was referred to by Chowdhury as “Rashtrapatni”.

That was the federal government’s cue to create pandemonium in Parliament with ministers Smriti Irani within the Lok Sabha and Nirmala Sitharaman within the Rajya Sabha spearheading the BJP assault towards Chowdhury and Gandhi.

After the Lok Sabha was adjourned, Sonia Gandhi crossed the ground of the Home and reportedly stated to BJP MP Rama Devi: “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had already apologised. What’s my fault?” At this level, sources informed the TV channel Smriti Irani interjected and stated, “Madam, might I allow you to? I took your title.” To which, Sonia Gandhi retorted: “Do not speak to me.” In response to the Congress sources, Irani pointed her finger at Gandhi and had stated: “How dare you behave like this? This isn’t your celebration workplace…” And to that Gandhi replied: “I’m not talking to you.” Rama Devi, nonetheless, claimed Gandhi spoke to Irani angrily, wagging her finger.

Rama Devi reiterated her celebration’s demand for Gandhi’s apology. “Who can tolerate the humiliation of the President? She is a backward and a tribal chief. Her work speaks volumes and never celebration affiliation. Gandhi ought to apologise to nation for selecting a frontrunner like that, who speaks such nonsense,” Rama Devi stated.

It’s understood that the BJP ladies MPs within the Lok Sabha have filed a grievance with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla towards Gandhi for shouting at Irani.

NCP MP Supriya Sule stated: “Unlucky scenes have been witnessed within the Lok Sabha. Was shocked to listen to pointless sloganeering towards Sonia Gandhi after the Home was adjourned. All of us ought to take accountability of the Home and keep its dignity and decorum.

Trinamul Congress MP Mahua Moitra tweeted: “Was within the Lok Sabha when a 75-year-old senior chief was encircled and heckled pack-wolf type when all she did was stroll over and converse to a different senior girl and panel chairperson. I’m disgusted at BJP lies & the false model in press.”
