Rudraprayag: A helicopter ferrying pilgrims again from the Kedarnath temple crashed on Tuesday amid poor visibility, killing all seven individuals onboard.

The chopper burst into flames near Garud Chatti and Jungle Chatti, killing six pilgrims and the pilot, Rudraprayag District Catastrophe Administration Officer Nandan Singh stated.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief and ordered an in depth inquiry into the crash.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated his ministry is consistently monitoring the scenario.

“The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extraordinarily unlucky. We’re in contact with the state authorities to determine the magnitude of the loss, and are consistently monitoring the scenario,” he stated in a tweet.

A senior civil aviation ministry official stated the helicopter concerned within the crash was operated by Aryan Aviation.

“In response to the preliminary info, a Bell 407 helicopter VT-RPN crashed on the way in which from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, presumably attributable to unhealthy climate,” a senior official of the Directorate Normal of Civil Aviation stated.
