An 87-year-old who suffered a critical fall was pressured to attend 15 hours outdoors for an ambulance in a makeshift shelter, his household have revealed.
The good-granddad, named solely as David, broke seven ribs and cracked his pelvis in two locations when he took a tumble at round 7.30 at an tackle in Cornwall on Monday.
His son-in-law Trevor stated: ‘He was strolling to the storage when he tripped and fell over.
‘We dialled 999 however an ambulance didn’t arrive for over 15 hours.
‘We stored ringing and they’d say we shall be with you quickly. My spouse was a nervous wreck.
‘They stored telling us to not transfer him so we borrowed a soccer objective from subsequent door and used a tarpaulin. It was traumatizing.’
Monday noticed the beginning of heavy rainfall throughout elements of the UK which later led to extreme flooding.
Images present David coated in a blanket with solely the tarp, three umbrellas and a few bin baggage to guard him from the weather.
He ultimately made it to Royal Cornwall Hospital and is making a restoration.
