CONTINETTI: For 30 years, crime gave the benefit to Republicans in a nationwide political context. In fact, … crime’s impacts are felt on the native stage, on the municipal stage. However politically, it has huge nationwide penalties. And so what we’re seeing as crime surges – as violent crime surges – Republicans are reaping the advantages. And I might additionally say, too, in fact, it is liberal insurance policies which can be creating this crime surge, whether or not it is on incarceration, whether or not it is on policing, whether or not it is on habit, on homelessness. All of that is making a disaster within the cities. And though there aren’t many Republicans within the cities, Republicans will profit nationally.
