Wind gusted to over 100 kilometres per hour, and 37 litres per sq. metre of rain fell on the airport in Mahon in simply ten minutes; 91 litres had been registered in all.

The met company Aemet reported on Sunday morning that there 16,116 rays of lightning within the Balearics over a 24-hour interval from Saturday, nearly all of them within the early hours. The storm hit the north of Mallorca round 3am on Sunday, however the rain was nowhere close to as heavy as in Minorca.

The amber alerts for rain and thunderstorms stay energetic for the remainder of Sunday and till 8am on Monday.
