NGOs name for binding targets to halve EU meals waste by 2030

The EU throws away extra meals than it imports, in response to a report from the environmental group Suggestions EU printed on Tuesday. Whereas the bloc imported nearly 138 million tonnes of agricultural merchandise in 2021, it’s estimated that the EU wastes 153.5 million tonnes of meals yearly. Responding to those figures, NGOs have known as on the fee to introduce legally-binding targets to halve meals waste by 2030.
