A pilot has died after his mild aircraft crashed in bushland in Queensland’s north.
The plane was overdue to land in Ayr, south of Townsville, on Sunday morning.
After an in depth search via rugged bushland, police positioned the aircraft in Shirbourne, 38 kilometres west of Ayr.
The pilot, a 67-year-old Townsville man who was the one occupant of the plane, was discovered lifeless on the scene.
Police will examine the circumstances of the crash and a report shall be ready for the coroner.
The Australian Transport Security Bureau was notified of the deadly crash however has referred the incident to Leisure Aviation Australia.
RAAus will help Queensland Police with its investigation, the physique’s chief government Matt Bouttell stated.
