Police on inflatable paddle boards have joined the drive’s air wing and the State Emergency Service within the seek for a person lacking at a piece of the Yarra River in Melbourne’s outer east.

Investigators have been instructed the 39-year-old man was with pals at Taroona Reserve, Warrandyte on Saturday when he walked down a path towards the river by himself about 3pm.

His pals later tried to seek out him earlier than contacting police to report him lacking.

The realm is a part of the Warrandyte State Forest. One facet of the river is a well-liked strolling observe for locals and the opposite is roofed by dense bushland.

Appearing Sergeant Will Calleja was unable to reply questions on whether or not the person was a neighborhood or visiting the realm.

“We’ve searched an space of 4 kilometres throughout the river,” Calleja instructed media on the scene on Sunday.
