The Sunday afternoon/night open-mic periods are again on at Robert’s Prime in Almuñécar and I used to be actually fortunate to pop alongside to the primary one.

It’s all the time nice to listen to José Montalvo, who runs the periods, on guitar/vocals accompanied by his brother Dani, who’s an outstanding drummer. Additionally, after all, the open-mic musicians, who come from far and extensive to play only for the enjoyment of performing.

It’s a fantastic weekly occasion the place you get to listen to some incredible, reside music in a venue ideally suited to this sort of jam session.

Simply to make my day, guitarist and all-round good bloke, Invoice O’Haire, appeared and did a couple of numbers. It’s all the time a pleasure to look at this US musician play and though he considers himself a jazz musician, the blues heavy set he performed at Robert’s Prime was approach up there.

We’re so fortunate that Invoice has made Almuñécar his residence… and to make issues worse, he’s a very nice man and a pleasure to speak to. So, gifted and man… it’s these varieties that give us mere mortals a foul title!

Anyway, again to the open-mic periods. Bear in mind, each Sunday 18.00h at Robert’s Prime in Calle Livry Gargan in Almuñecar. A great deal of tremendous music, nice firm and a pleasant ambiance besides… pop in quickly!
