RANCHI: Alleging that the BJP was making an attempt to topple the JMM-led authorities in Jharkhand by providing Rs 10 crore to every MLA, the Congress on Sunday stated it has lodged a police grievance in opposition to its three legislators arrested in West Bengal’s Howrah with an enormous amount of money.
Addressing a press convention right here, Congress minister Alamgir Alam stated the celebration’s Bermo MLA Kumar Jaimangal has lodged the police grievance in opposition to the three legislators for allegedly luring different MLAs by providing Rs 10 crore every and a ministerial berth if the BJP kinds authorities within the state.
Appearing on a tip-off, the West Bengal Police on Saturday night intercepted an SUV through which Congress MLAs Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachchap and Naman Bixal Kongari have been travelling, and allegedly discovered an enormous amount of money within the car. After questioning, they have been arrested on Sunday afternoon.
“Rajesh Kachchap and Naman Bixal Kongari have been asking me to come back to Kolkata and have been providing cash, promising Rs 10 crore per MLA. Ifran Ansari and Rajesh Kachchap wished to take me to Guwahati from Kolkata the place in response to them a gathering was mounted with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” Jaimangal claimed.
After submitting the grievance on the Argora police station in Ranchi, he claimed that he has sought motion in opposition to the three MLAs underneath Part 7(C) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC Part 120 (B), which offers with legal conspiracy.
He stated he has urged the police to examine legal actions detrimental to the well being of democracy.
An officer of the Argora police station stated for the reason that money was recovered in West Bengal, they have been transferring the matter to the neighbouring state.
The Congress, which is part of the JMM-led authorities in Jharkhand together with Lalu Prasad’s RJD, has already suspended the three MLAs.
Senior BJP chief Babulal Marandi stated the Congress has conspired to defame his celebration by submitting a false police grievance to cover its personal sins. “That is shameful and ridiculous. They don’t belief their very own MLAs. They’re making an attempt to cover the corruptions and misdeeds of their MLAs,” stated Marandi, a former chief minister. PTI
