From steak to fin soup, guests to Bangkok’s Chinatown discover a plethora of shark merchandise on supply regardless of the drop in Chinese language vacationers to the Thai capital because of the pandemic and warnings from environmentalists that most of the species focused for meat are threatened with extinction.

Dozens of Chinatown road stalls and eating places hawk a wide range of shark dishes, from the standard soup, to stews and filets, which promote at double or triple the worth of extra standard fish dishes.

“Most purchasers come and order this shark with rice, the shark soup, or the shark steak (which varies in worth between $14 and $274). These are the preferred dishes and our stars,” a hostess of a restaurant specializing in shark meat tells Efe.
