Spanish novelist Javier Marias dies aged 70

Award-winning Spanish novelist Javier Marias died on Sunday aged
70, his writer Alfaguara mentioned, Pattern stories citing Reuters.

Marias, who had been affected by pneumonia for the previous
month, printed 16 novels together with ‘Your Face Tomorrow’ a trilogy
launched between 2002 and 2007.

“Javier Marias was the most effective author in Spain,” Spanish novelist
Eduardo Mendoza, mentioned in a tribute written for Spain’s every day
newspaper El Pais.

“A tragic day for Spanish letters,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro
Sanchez tweeted. “Javier Marias leaves us, one of many nice writers
of our time.”

His books had been translated into 46 languages and bought nearly 9
million copies throughout 56 international locations, Alfaguara’s web site says.
