ITANAGAR: Three individuals have been killed in an Military helicopter crash in Higher Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday morning, a defence official mentioned.

The superior mild helicopter, carrying 5 Military personnel, was on common sorties, he mentioned.

The incident occurred at 10.43 am at Singging close to Migging, round 25 km from district headquarters Tuting.

“There have been 5 Military personnel onboard. Three of them died. Two our bodies have been recovered, whereas one has been sighted. Two others are but to be noticed,” the defence official mentioned.

A rescue workforce reached the spot and search operation is underway, Tezpur primarily based defence spokesperson Lt Col AS Walia mentioned.

Two choppers, one every of Military and India Air Drive, have been deployed for the search and rescue operation, he mentioned.

Higher Siang SP Jummar Basar had earlier mentioned the crash website is a mountainous area, and it will take time for the search and rescue workforce to succeed in the spot.

The district police additionally despatched a workforce to the spot for search operation, the SP mentioned.

The Military chopper, also referred to as HAL Rudra, took off from Likabali in Decrease Siang district of the state with the military personnel onboard.

That is the second incident of an Military helicopter accident within the state this month.

A Cheetah helicopter crashed in Tawang district on October 5, killing one of many two pilots onboard.

One other Cheetah chopper crashed in March close to the Line of Management in Jammu and Kashmir. The pilot died on this incident, too.
