To protect LAC, Military deploys Tata QRFVs in North East


The QRFVs, that are meant for speedy transportation of the infantry troops, have been deployed within the high-altitude terrain of Sikkim

Kolkata: To cope with the Chinese language threats throughout the Line of Precise Management, the Indian Military is learnt to have deployed indigenously-built Fast Response Preventing Automobiles (QRFV) within the Jap Command shut on the heels of the platform’s induction within the Northern Command.  

Based on sources, the QRFVs, that are meant for speedy transportation of the infantry troops, have been deployed within the high-altitude terrain of Sikkim beneath the XXXIII Corps (Trishakti Corps) which is a strategic military formation going through China.   

The transfer is sure to extend the mountain warfare prowess of the troops at varied locations like Thangu, Lugnak La, Dongkya La within the lap of the Himalayas, stated a defence official on anonymity.  

Constructed and delivered by Tata Superior Programs Ltd, the QRFVs, that are 4×4 mine protected, had been first inducted within the Ladakh area beneath the Northern Command of the military final month.   

The armored personnel service has Stanag degree IV blast safety, a 240 HP Engine fitted inside and may carry a payload of as much as 2 tons. Its tyres are geared up with run-flat inserts with the system having a 360-degree rotating turret on the roof, 10 firing ports and a seating capability of 14 troopers.
