Lakhimpur Kheri: Six males have been arrested on Thursday in reference to the alleged rape and homicide of two Dalit teenage sisters right here, police stated.
The ladies, aged 15 and 17, have been discovered hanging from a tree in a sugarcane discipline a few kilometre from their home within the Nighasan police station space on Wednesday.

“Based on preliminary investigation, the 2 sisters left their house on Wednesday afternoon after they have been persuaded by Junaid and Sohail. Junaid and Sohail have confessed that they strangulated the ladies after raping them,” the SP stated.

An FIR has been registered underneath sections 302 (homicide), 323 (voluntarily inflicting damage), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for damage, assault or mistakenful restraint), 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he stated.
