The Info Trove explains the things that shape everyday life — money, technology, health, work and your rights — in plain English, without the jargon and without the hype.

Most of what we write starts with a simple question: what does this actually mean, and what should I do about it?

What you’ll find here

Explainers — how things work, from weather forecasts to the numbers in the news.

Money & Tax — interest, savings, loans and tax, explained with worked examples rather than sales pitches.

Technology — what your devices and apps are really doing, and how to stay safe while you use them.

Health — everyday health information, explained clearly and based on official guidance.

Law & Rights — the rules that affect you as a tenant, an employee and a consumer.

Work & Careers — practical help with jobs, offers and the working world.

How we do it

We go to the source. Wherever we can, we base what we write on primary sources — official guidance, regulators, the original research — and we link to them so you can check for yourself.

We say what we don’t know. If something is disputed, uncertain, or depends on where you live, we say so rather than smoothing it over.

We fix mistakes openly. If we get something wrong, we correct it and note the change on the page.

No hype. No “you won’t believe”, no scare headlines, no invented urgency. If something isn’t worth your time, we won’t pretend it is.

What we are not

We explain; we don’t advise. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or medical advice, and none of it can take account of your personal situation. For decisions that matter, speak to a qualified professional.

How the site is paid for

The Info Trove is free to read, and advertising covers the cost of running it. Advertisers never decide what we write, and we don’t publish paid-for articles dressed up as our own. You can read exactly what data is collected in our Privacy Policy.
