Mumbai:
A lady was severely injured in an acid assault in Lokmanya Tilak Marg space in south Mumbai within the early hours of Friday, a police official mentioned.
The 62-year-old accused, who is thought to the sufferer, has been arrested, he mentioned.
“The police was alerted by staffers on the hospital the place she was rushed following the assault. Officers together with the deputy commissioner of police have visited the spot. The assault was carried out as a consequence of earlier enmity,” he mentioned.
“Acid was thrown on the girl at round 5:30am when she was filling water. The accused first abused her. He was held from the neighborhood whereas attempting to flee,” the official mentioned.
The person has been charged beneath Indian Penal Code sections 326 (a), 307, 504, 506 for try to homicide, inflicting grievous damage utilizing acid and legal intimidation, the official mentioned.
